Changelog

What changes in Rotative, release by release. This page is drawn from the engine every time the site is built.

4.7.9

Finishing a review

  • ✅ A review finishes in one move: “Finish review”, at the top of the Review column, closes the suggestions still pending and keeps them apart, without touching the article or notifying anyone.

4.7.8

The cursor stays put, and security is being prepared

  • ⌨️ Typing a space no longer makes the cursor jump: in the editor, a space no longer re-reads the whole text, and the cursor stays where you are writing.
  • 🔐 Behind the scenes, exchanges between the press and the workshop can be signed: each request would carry a dated signature, which can be neither replayed nor altered, instead of a simple token; not yet enabled.
  • 🔐 Behind the scenes, two-factor authentication can become mandatory depending on the account’s permissions: in two steps, with the passkey offered first and backup codes to print; set per site.
  • 🧾 Behind the scenes, workshop errors are recorded: in a log with no personal data, which the security watch reads every day.

4.7.7

The digest switches on in one move

  • 🔔 Switching on the digest of access requests asks for the address straight away: the checkbox opens the field, like the summary and the objections, and it is only ticked once the address is saved.

4.7.6

Suggestions are settled without losing your place

  • ✍️ Settling a suggestion no longer sends you back to the top: the text and the Review column stay where they were, the settled passage keeps its place on screen, and the article stays in the chosen mode.
  • ✍️ In Edit mode, typing over a suggestion rejects it: typing, pasting or deleting goes through, the suggestion affected is rejected, and a message says so; in Suggest mode, the passage stays protected.

4.7.4

The workshop all in blue, and the quiz

  • 🎨 The whole workshop turns blue: solid buttons in plain blue, with no gradient; links, accent backgrounds and the ring around the active field too, in light and dark alike, with a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1; the sign-in pages and the newsletter pages follow.
  • 🧩 On the page, a site’s header and footer are edited in place: elsewhere, they are greyed out and no longer float; the “↑ ↓ Remove” handle no longer lingers at the bottom of pages.
  • ❓ An article can carry a quiz: one question at a time, with answers readable even without scripts; in the editor, it can be moved, removed or edited in HTML.

4.7.2

The long dash no longer blocks, and suggestions can be filtered

  • ✍️ A long dash no longer blocks publication: the article or page is saved, receives approval and is published with it; the workshop flags it and suggests a comma, a colon or brackets, which read better, and the pre-publication checks flag it without stopping the site. A title too long for search engines also remains a simple warning.
  • 🔎 Articles awaiting an answer to their suggestions are found in one move: a “Suggestions” badge in the “To fix” row and, for those who write, a “Suggestions to settle” tile that says how many are waiting.

4.7.1

The subscriber list key, clearer

  • 🔑 The subscriber list passkey is created without a hitch: the request comes from the workshop window, a password manager that intercepts it is named, a greyed-out button says why and a session that is too old is flagged before the click; passkeys have their own list, each on one line with its date.

4.7.0

Two more blocks and two more roles, and the workshop in blue

  • ✍️ The workshop inserts two more blocks: “Explainer”, a box read in the flow of the text, and “True or false”, with its verdict colour.
  • 👥 Two more roles in the Team: “Newsletter (writing)”, which composes the newsletter without being able to send it or see the subscribers, and “Technical (no content)”, which sees the log, the platform and the form recipients; neither can be requested at sign-up.
  • 🎨 The Changelog and the workshop menu take on the same blue, the timeline, the versions and the open page of the menu; the page is now called “Changelog”.
  • 🧩 On approval, the workshop reruns the record checks this site declares: image, standfirst, title, dashes, topics and body, and says what to fix before approving.

4.6.9

A shared reading time, and the logo without a frame in the workshop

  • ⏱️ Reading time is calculated at 230 words per minute: in the workshop preview, as on Rotative sites.
  • 🗂️ Behind the scenes, a record saved without a topic keeps its list of topics, empty, instead of losing it: a site that reads an article’s first topic no longer breaks at build time.

4.6.7

The platform status in the administration

  • 🛰️ The administration shows the platform status: a “The platform” line, at the top of “Data and documentation”, says “Everything is working” or what needs action (only then in amber). It opens a view of four cards: what is running (the site, the workshop, the press, the code), each with an “i” tooltip saying what it is for, by click, touch or keyboard; today’s runs; the versions in service, with “The workshop is waiting for an upload” when workshop files have changed in the code; the health of the press (memory, disk, duration of the last run, security updates). Not yet available: until this site’s press deposits its report, the view says “No report yet”.

4.6.6

A house for the dashboard, and a lighter newsletter

  • 🏠 The dashboard, the workshop’s home page, has a house as its icon, in the menu, the guided tour and the data pages menu; “Site home” keeps the site’s logo.
  • 🗣️ The optional question asked after unsubscribing takes on this site’s wording and typography, with the same choices as before.

4.6.5

A new look for the workshop, and a newsletter that is easier to compose

  • 🎨 The workshop gets a new look: deep-sea background colours, the same font everywhere (Inter, served with the workshop, with no request to another site), harmonised corners and shadows; the “New article” button no longer has a break between its body and its arrow.
  • ✉️ The newsletter subject follows the article title: a “Use the article title” checkbox, ticked by default when the newsletter starts with an article; ticked, the subject follows the title of the first article, even if it changes later, and can no longer be typed; unticked, it is free again and keeps its last text. Beyond 60 characters, a notice reminds you that an email client cuts off the end.
  • 🧱 Three more blocks in the newsletter: an image, a button, a divider, added, moved and removed like a text or an article. The image is chosen from the workshop library, its description is mandatory (without it, the newsletter is not sent), its link optional and in https; it goes out at 600 px wide, as JPEG, and its weight counts towards the 102 KB check. The button: a text of 40 characters at most, an https address. The divider: a thin line, with no settings. All as simple tables, without scripts, with their plain-text version.
  • 📊 Each newsletter sent has its report: in “The newsletter › Newsletters”, the day and time it went out, the number of subscribers served, the unsubscriptions in the 7 days that follow, clicks as totals (across how many links) and the reasons for leaving given for it, in raw numbers; no percentages, no comparison between newsletters, and a reason is never linked to an address.
  • 👋 The reason for leaving, optional, after unsubscribing: unsubscribing happens first, in one click, as before; the page then offers, with no obligation, “Too many newsletters”, “The topics no longer interest me”, “I don’t remember subscribing”, “I read it elsewhere (site, social media)” or “Other” (300 characters at most). The answer is counted for the newsletter the click came from, without the address or anything that identifies the person, only one per unsubscribe link, and can be read in the newsletter’s report. Not yet available: it is switched on by the newsletter’s “reasons” setting, with the question asked on the site’s unsubscribe page.

4.6.4

Notifications that read at a glance, and a complete “My articles”

  • 🔔 The notification panel reads at a glance: an icon per kind (review, comment, approval, security…), a dot while it is unread, the full sentence that opens the article, the time in small type below; a tick at the end of the line marks it as read, without opening anything, under the bell as in “See all notifications”.
  • 📝 “My articles” also counts the articles signed with your name, or with the profile linked to your account, including those brought over from the old site; a collective byline belongs to no one.
  • 🧭 The workshop icon no longer carries a status badge: the status of the publishing server can be read under “Send to the site” when it needs action, and in the “Site upload” card of the administration.
  • 🚦 When sign-in requests flood the whole site, a browser already known still receives its link, if it carries a valid remembered device or an open session (ten requests per ten-minute window at most; the cap per sign-in and the three links per hour per account still apply); an expired or forgotten device, or one from a deactivated account, is not enough; the accounts that manage the team are warned in the bell, once per window at most, with nothing about the requester; “Sign everyone out” also forgets remembered devices.
  • 🔑 The subscriber list opens with a passkey of its own, created once on the “Subscribers” page (“The list key” card) and named “Subscriber list” by the device: a passkey for signing in to the workshop no longer opens the list, and the list passkey does not sign in to the workshop. The passkeys that opened the list until now no longer do: the new one counts once added to the press’s signed file of passkeys. “Remove passkeys” on an account (lost device) also removes its list passkey, and each admin receives a security notification: re-sign this file without it.
  • 🖋️ When editing on the page, formatted paragraphs (such as “What we did”) keep their bold, italics and links, instead of showing their tags, and are saved as they are.

4.6.2

“Changelog”, and the full library on the other sites

  • 🏷️ “Log of changes” becomes “Changelog” again, in the workshop menu, in the data pages menu and as the title of this page.
  • 📚 The image library takes in all the article images, with their description, caption, credit and the articles that use them; their date added is that of the oldest article showing them.
  • 🔢 Each of this changelog’s own entries carries its version number, followed, not in bold, by the Rotative version in force on its date.
  • 🛠️ Behind the scenes: data page templates are built next to the workshop frames, and no longer in the system’s temporary folder, which the publishing machine isolates on another disk; this prepares editing on the page, not yet connected to publication.
  • 🔒 Behind the scenes, workshop accounts are better protected: an account that manages accounts no longer acts on an account with a higher role than its own; a sign-out or a revocation also closes a sign-in link already sent; the identifier of a deleted account is never reissued; an article created at the address of a discarded article no longer inherits its approvals; an access request no longer costs any computation before its challenge and its cap.
  • 🛡️ Behind the scenes, publication refuses earlier: a subfolder .htaccess produced by the build no longer changes access to protected pages; a build still in progress, or restarted without a request, no longer returns its outputs; an edited text that would give rise to active code is not built; removing timeline blocks and block identifiers no longer joins two pieces back into one tag.

4.6.0

Notifications under a bell, and for every article

  • 🔔 Notifications move under a bell, next to “New article”: it shows the number of unread ones; a click opens the list, unread first, with “Mark all as read”, the read ones collapsed and “All notifications” for the full list. The dashboard keeps only the work.
  • 🔒 An unread security alert can also be read under the workshop title, on one line, with “View” and “Read”, until it is read; the other notifications stay under the bell.
  • 💬 A comment, a suggestion or an approval on an imported article now notifies someone: the account linked to its author’s profile or to their name, otherwise the administration.
  • 📝 An article submitted for review is announced in the bell of whoever can give approval, and the notification clears itself once the feedback is given.

4.5.2

A menu arranged in blocks, Help next to the account

  • 🧭 The workshop menu is arranged in blocks: write, follow, steer, the newsletter closes the Write block, and Help joins Theme and Site home on a row of icons, above the account.
  • 🔑 Administration takes a key as its icon and the Roadmap a signpost; an account that only has the bin sees a bin.
  • 🏷️ The “Topics” badge no longer counts articles in review, only those published or scheduled without a topic.

4.4.0

The workshop lays out pages, keeps the calendar and protects itself

  • ✍️ A text page is edited directly on the page, in the writing view, with all the editor’s tools; “Off the page” sets its title, its tab title and its description.
  • 🧩 Pages and articles choose a template: long text, numbered sections, cards, two columns or charter for pages; stacked sections and cards for articles.
  • 📥 “Load HTML” replaces a page’s text with cleaned HTML, with the list of what is kept or removed, and why, then a preview; ⌘Z restores the previous text.
  • 🔗 A sign-in link sent twice from the same browser always leads to the intended article.
  • 🔒 Behind the scenes: code checks and site reads stay fast, whatever the shape of a text; a page stays limited in size; the srcdoc attribute is refused.
  • 📨 The newsletter goes out from the press, its list opens with a passkey, encrypted for the single browser that requests it, and each issue is dated, wherever it is switched on.

4.3.0

A workshop that is easier to join and administer

  • 🔑 You enter the workshop in two steps: the address, then a six-digit code in six boxes, which submits itself on the sixth digit; an expired link is explained in one sentence.
  • 🙋 The access request presents the roles as cards, and “Request sent” shows the three steps that follow.
  • 🛡️ The workshop can offer two-factor authentication once to everyone, then every week to those who publish, wherever it is switched on; “Later” is still allowed.
  • 📱 On a phone, “Stay signed in” and “Protect your account” open as a sheet at the bottom of the screen, and Help arranges its questions in a list, each opening with a tap.
  • 🗂️ Administration opens on an overview that serves as a table of contents; each part carries its title and “← Administration”.
  • 🕓 The History groups successive saves and describes each action in a sentence, with links to accounts and articles, a search and a filter.
  • 🔎 In review, an “In a search engine” box shows the title and description as they will appear; a title changed after approval is flagged.
  • ✍️ In the editor, Shift+Enter makes a line break within the same paragraph, and three typed dots become “…” (⌘Z restores them).
  • 🔗 Select a link, then “Link”: the window shows its address and “Edit” changes it while keeping its text.
  • ↩️ On an article, the back arrow lives in the editor row, which fits on one line when there is room; in the calendar, articles without a date move to the bottom.
  • ✉️ In the sign-in email, the code is selected as one block, without taking the sentence above with it.
  • 🔔 System notifications are available wherever the workshop switches them on: “Notifications on this device” in the account settings, with a test that says when the notification should arrive.
  • 🔒 Behind the scenes: the fixes from a security audit: signing out everywhere also removes passkeys, an account’s identifier is unique, a role cannot be given above one’s own, caps protect sign-in and access requests, and built pages open isolated in the workshop.
  • 📨 The newsletter is composed in the workshop, with a preview, a test send to yourself and sealed addresses, wherever it is switched on.

4.2.0

Audience tracking, easier to read and shared by every workshop

  • 🧭 The “Audience tracking” page carries the menu’s name, in its title and tab, and opens on a summary that leads to the blocks the period shows.
  • 🔎 “Site data” and “Search engines” can be read side by side as soon as Google has published its figures; as long as Bing has published nothing for the site, the panel says so, without counting it as a zero.
  • 🩺 Under the slider, the status of each measurement: the site’s counter, Google, Bing and the old addresses, each with its badge; on click, the reason when a source is silent.
  • ✉️ Each campaign carries a readable name, set by each site, and says which pages it brings in.
  • 📱 On a phone, the page takes the full width of the screen: 16 px of margin instead of 40.
  • ⚙️ Behind the scenes: a single audience page serves every workshop; each site sets what is its own (its name in searches, its campaign names).

4.1.0

A dark theme, and a welcoming workshop

  • 🙋 The workshop’s “Request access” page explains the three roles: review; write and review; write, review and publish.
  • ✉️ The email that accepts an access request contains a direct entry link, valid once, for 24 hours.
  • 👋 On first entering the workshop, an animated tour presents the dashboard, once; the workshop also asks whether to stay signed in on this device, for 30 days.
  • ↩️ In the workshop, going back returns you to where you were: the search and its filters, the calendar month, the open row. The browser’s arrow, the phone gesture and the “←” button do the same, and the page address keeps the search and the month.
  • 🖼️ A suggestion can concern an article’s lead image, and those who can already edit the article find “Apply as an edit” in the “Propose…” menu.
  • 🔐 Behind the scenes: the workshop can offer two-factor authentication to each account, after it signs in; to be switched on site by site.
  • 🔔 Behind the scenes: the workshop can send system notifications, on phone and computer, with encrypted content; to be switched on site by site.

4.0.1

A grid of all the commits

  • 👁️ Behind the scenes: the workshop preview can show an article as it will appear on each site that uses the same base, from a template that this site builds.

4.0.0

The site no longer depends on any personal computer

  • ✍️ In the workshop, an article in review is saved without a date, with a warning; the date is still required to be published. An image without a description is saved and published, with a warning inviting you to describe it.
  • 🧩 Behind the scenes: a tool can place, on the server side, remarks attached to a sentence of an article, signed “Robot”, with the same checks as workshop comments.
  • 🖍️ Behind the scenes: the workshop can keep the passages of open comments highlighted in the writing page, until they are resolved, switched on site by site.
  • 🖍️ Behind the scenes: the highlighting of open comments is set from each site’s workshop upload.

3.2.5

Newsletter, workshop log and API addresses

  • ✉️ Behind the scenes: the newsletter page can count unsubscriptions carried over from an old list, outside the weekly curve like any carried-over data, and a later import never resubscribes these people: only the fingerprint of the address is kept; switched on site by site.
  • 🧾 Behind the scenes: the workshop log shows each site what concerns it, the shared new features and its own.
  • 🔍 Behind the scenes: before a publication, the exchange with the workshop can check that no article differs between the site and the workshop, and names each discrepancy, its direction and the fields affected.

3.2.4

From sharing images to the site’s fonts

  • 🧩 Behind the scenes: publishing from a dedicated server is being prepared, with its administration access reinforced; not yet in service, the site is published as before.

3.2.3

A clearer sign-in page

  • 🎨 The workshop sign-in page reads better, in light and dark alike: the “Get the link” button takes deeper shades (white text at 4.9:1 and 5.0:1 instead of 4.2:1 and 2.5:1), and the placeholder text of the address field rises to at least 4.5:1.
  • 🧩 Behind the scenes: the sign-in page can take the colours of another site that uses the workshop, if it deposits its own style sheet.

3.2.2

Sign-in, phone, audience and old addresses

  • 📱 On a phone, the “Now on the home page” card shows its full title, with the switch and “Edit” grouped on one line, at finger size.
  • 🧩 Behind the scenes: the “Right now” strip can serve every site that uses the workshop, if it declares it.
  • 💬 A suggestion can be accepted even after another one that added a paragraph higher up, including when the targeted passage appears twice in the article.
  • 📚 Behind the scenes: the workshop can keep the list of an article’s sources (title, outlet, address, date, note), switched on site by site.
  • 🔐 Before a sensitive action, the workshop asks you to confirm it is really you (face or fingerprint if a passkey exists, otherwise the address then the code from the email), then resumes the action; no more refusals in red.
  • ↩️ In the workshop, a “Back” button: it returns to the page you came from, at the same place on the dashboard, and asks before leaving an unsaved text.
  • 🖼️ Behind the scenes: the workshop icons are served opaque, on the site’s tile.
  • 🔄 When a new version of the workshop is online, a bar offers “Reload”: on returning to the tab or the app, and every 10 minutes. Nothing is reloaded by force; an unsaved text is kept in this browser, then offered. The tab also picks up a changed favicon.
  • 🔗 Behind the scenes: after the link or the code from the email, sign-in only goes through a page of the site if that page can bring you back to the workshop; otherwise it leads there directly.
  • 📱 On a phone, the workshop windows fit on the screen: they scroll with a finger, “Close” stays at the top within thumb’s reach, and touching the background closes them.
  • 🏠 “Site home” now opens the public site, in a new tab.
  • ➕ “New article” opens in one click; its small arrow offers “Quick draft” (a title is enough, it waits under “Ideas”). The “Idea” button disappears.
  • ⚙️ Account settings are arranged in sections: Public profile, Sign-in and security, Emails, Role. On a phone, the list then the detail. Emails are switches, and the address is only asked for once.
  • 👤 Behind the scenes: the workshop’s People screen also serves the other sites that use it (profiles, portraits, bylines); in a profile, “Role” becomes “Under the name”.
  • ✍️ “Quick draft” now only asks for a title (the rest under “More details”); on a phone, the first step of “Publish…” is shorter: the chosen topics at the top, the others collapsed.
  • 🔗 A link to a workshop article opens it after sign-in, by link, code, passkey or two-factor authentication.
  • 📝 Leaving an unsaved article is confirmed in the page, with “Leave, copy kept” (the copy can be found again); “New article” resumes the untitled draft left in progress; a sign-in link already used, reopened while signed in, says so.
  • 🔐 In account settings, two-factor authentication and passkeys each fit on one line, like the rest of “Sign-in and security”.
  • 📅 On a phone, the workshop calendar no longer scrolls into the void: at the end of the list, the months end too.
  • 📈 Audience tracking is in each site’s workshop, with the figures from its own counter, the titles of its texts and, once collected, those from Google and Bing; what is still missing is stated at the top of the page.
  • ✉️ In the sign-in email, the six-digit code comes just below the button, visible without scrolling on a phone; the link to copy for another browser moves below it.
  • 🧩 Behind the scenes: the workshop’s /favicon.ico address serves its icon, without sign-in.
  • ✉️ Behind the scenes: the workshop can keep the newsletter page (subscribers, sends, clicks per link as totals, with no individual tracking), switched on site by site.
  • 🖼️ Behind the scenes: the workshop’s home screen icons are served as a full tile, with no border, bearing the site’s mark.

3.2.1

The log follows the site and the workshop

  • 🔑 Behind the scenes: the address field of the sign-in page carries the name that password managers expect.
  • 📝 An article’s key points are written one per bullet, with bold, italics, superscript, subscript and links. The site displays them through the same filter as the workshop.
  • 📲 The workshop no longer stops on “The workshop could not start” when opened from the iPhone share sheet or when you come back to it after leaving: without a session, it leads to sign-in; on an article that cannot be found or has been removed, it opens the home page and says why; a network drop in the background no longer stops it.
  • ✏️ The workshop icon carries the site’s mosaic and a pencil badge, in the tab and in the workshop bar.
  • 🏷️ In the workshop, the small heading above a page title becomes optional: left empty, nothing is displayed.
  • 📱 On a phone, the workshop dashboard filters fold away under a “Filters” button.
  • 🧩 Behind the scenes: the workshop help texts and its access request follow the settings of each site that uses it.
  • 🗺️ Behind the scenes: the workshop can show a roadmap reserved for the administration, switched on site by site.
  • ✂️ The workshop dashboard, its log and the data pages lose their small line above the title: the workshop bar already says where you are.
  • ✅ Behind the scenes: review feedback already kept once can be kept again after a touch-up that does not change the substance, by the administration; the previous keeping remains recorded and can be restored.

3.2.0

Signing in with one gesture on iPhone, keeping your ideas

  • 🔐 On iPhone, the address fills itself in and a code arrives with the link. The sign-in email carries a six-digit code, which the phone offers from Mail; you type it into the page that requested the link. The link stays valid.
  • 💡 “+ Idea” keeps an idea in one move: a draft reduced to a title, found again under the “Ideas” filter.
  • 🗓️ A draft can target a day or a month, and appears on that date in the calendar, dotted.
  • 🛡️ Behind the scenes: the code received by email resists repeated attempts; beyond a few errors, only the link lets you in.
  • 🔑 Behind the scenes: signing in with the phone’s face or fingerprint is being prepared, not yet available.
  • 🔒 Behind the scenes: switching on two-factor authentication is ready, not yet available: a few guided steps, and a code to scan with your phone.
  • ✅ Behind the scenes: review feedback given on a previous version of an article can be kept, by the administration.

3.1.0

Requesting a role, installing the workshop, and a safer workshop

  • 🙋 You request another role from Account settings. The request reaches the administration with the access requests; the answer comes back through a workshop notification, and by email if “notify me” is ticked.
  • 📱 The workshop can be installed on a phone’s home screen, like an app.
  • 🔔 The workshop keeps a list of notifications, flagged by a badge.
  • 📐 An article whose layout goes beyond the intended frame is no longer published as it is: the workshop flags it as soon as it is saved.
  • 🛡️ Behind the scenes: the workshop is safer. Review can no longer be bypassed; an account no longer signs on behalf of another or on behalf of the site without having the right to; a portrait can now only be removed by the person concerned or the administration.
  • 🔒 Behind the scenes: two-factor authentication is being prepared, not yet available: a code taken from an app on your phone, in addition to the link, and backup codes.
  • 🗄️ Behind the scenes: the workshop backups are better protected.
  • 🧩 Behind the scenes: the same workshop can serve other sites, each with its own name and colours.

3.0.3

Sharing on LinkedIn, discarding an edit

  • ↩️ In the workshop, an edit not yet published can be discarded, for an article already published, a person’s profile or the topics: a window shows what will be lost, the site’s version comes back, and “Restore” puts it back for ten minutes.

3.0.2

Publishing your edits, article by article

  • 📤 In the workshop, a correction to an article already published is published with one button, “Publish my edits”, after a comparison with the online version; only that article goes out, and the site keeps the published version as long as nobody has clicked.
  • ✍️ Whoever wrote or corrected the article can publish it, as can the elected members; “Send to the site” now only publishes what has been approved.

3.0.0

A new editor, and publishing that is getting ready to leave the personal computer

  • ✍️ A new editor in the workshop, for everyone: each block (subheading, box, pull quote, key figure, table, two columns, gallery, video, source timeline, chart) is placed through the “/” menu or the “+”, moved by its handle and edited in place; images can be dragged or pasted, the Tab key adds a row to a table, and a paste is cleaned of whatever the site cannot display.
  • 📤 Saving is no longer publishing: a touch-up to an article already published stays in the workshop until “Send to the site”; publishing, scheduling or unpublishing an article reaches the site within a few minutes.
  • 📊 Articles can carry bar and line charts, drawn when the site is built.
  • 🗑️ In the workshop, a new article can be discarded from the start, before any save; at the end of the calendar list, the mouse wheel scrolls the page; the two badges of the “Checks” tab fit on one line.

2.18.1

Workshop touch-ups, and fairer bylines

  • 🪪 A profile already linked to an account appears greyed out for everyone, with “already linked to an account”, without naming the account.
  • ✉️ The sign-in email also shows the link in plain text, below the button, to copy and open in another browser or a private window.
  • 🗑️ “Discard this draft” in the “⋯” menu, from the first save of a new article; it goes to the bin, from which it can be restored.
  • ✅ The “Saved” status is shown by a centred tick when space is short, and the “+ New topic” row is aligned.

2.18.0

Signing on behalf of, and better-guarded accounts

  • 🔗 The sign-in link opens the workshop on its own. If an email service opened it before you, your next links ask for a click; an admin can switch back to automatic sign-in.
  • 🛡️ Accepting a request: the requested role arrives ticked. For elected member or administration, and to grant “force” or “accounts”, the button waits for the “I have checked through another channel” box. A personal profile serves only one account.
  • ⏱️ The digest of access requests goes out 3 hours after the first event, and groups what follows.
  • 🕘 The Version history explains its rule: one version per quarter-hour of writing and per person.

2.17.0

No more readable addresses on the server

  • 🔐 The email addresses of workshop accounts are no longer readable on the server. The sign-in identifier becomes an Argon2id fingerprint with a secret key; the addresses used for sending (Monday summary, “Keep me informed”, digest of access requests) are kept encrypted, and only the publishing server can read them back. Nobody had to sign in again.
  • ✉️ Changing your account’s address, from account settings: the current address, then a confirmation link sent to the new one. An admin can also change it for someone else, after checking it through another channel.
  • 🛡️ Before opening an account, the workshop asks for the person to be checked “through another channel (a message, a call)” for every role, and no longer only for elected members.

2.16.1

The preview of an article not yet published is complete again

  • 👁️ In the workshop, the preview of a pending article again shows everything its page will show: for council minutes, the record of the session’s votes, at the top of the contents.
  • 🔒 These pages stay off the site: they only serve the preview, behind the workshop sign-in.

2.16.0

An article not yet published no longer has a page on the site

  • 🔐 A pending article (draft or in review) no longer has any public page: no page, no text version, no sharing image. It is reviewed in the workshop.
  • ✍️ In the workshop, the help texts say so: “no page on the site” as long as the article is not published.

2.13.0

A “Box” module in the workshop

  • 🧩 The workshop offers a “Box” module: a title, a text and an optional button, in “Insert” or to frame blocks already written; the button immediately takes on the look of the site’s button, and a box left empty is not saved.
  • 🌙 In the workshop’s black page, a box is readable: its text had a contrast of 1.4:1, it is now 10:1.
  • 🔗 A button to an article not yet published disappears with its paragraph, without leaving a gap in the page.

2.12.1

The reviewer arrives in Suggest

  • ✍️ A review account opens another person’s article in Suggest, ready to propose, with the suggestions already made highlighted; it used to go through “Read”.

2.12.0

An article’s address is chosen when publishing

  • 🔗 The address is chosen in “Publish…”: it is suggested from the title, editable if you wish, and fixed as soon as the article is published; an old address already shared leads to the new one, and comments, suggestions and approvals follow.
  • 🧽 No more false suggestions: an apostrophe or a space written differently in the saved text no longer produces a phantom change (“d’euros → d’euros”).
  • 🛡️ Active links: a disguised link in a suggestion is neutralised, even when encoded or split by a blank.

2.11.0

Suggestions always in view

  • 🖍️ Pending suggestions stay highlighted in the text, in Edit as in Suggest: no more button to show or hide them. A click on a highlighted passage settles it.
  • ✍️ Another person’s article opens in Suggest, your own in Edit; a keystroke that would touch a passage already suggested is held back, with a message to settle it first.
  • 💬 A comment that has replies can no longer be deleted: “Resolved” closes the thread. The replies badge updates when you come back to the tab.
  • 👁️ In preview, a click on a check (long sentence, phrasing) highlights the passage in the page.

2.9.0

A draft without a date, a profile created when signing

  • 📅 A draft no longer has a date by default: it is chosen in “Publish…”; until then, the workshop says “date to be set” and puts the draft at the top of “Off calendar”.
  • ✍️ Creating the profile of whoever signs: anyone who writes can create, from the “Signed” field of “Publish…”, the profile of a name that does not exist yet; the introduction and portrait are completed later in People.
  • 🏷️ Topics: “List of configured topics”; with the menu collapsed, the badge stays on its button.
  • 🕓 History: the writes from the automatic run can be read there as events, with no author (“Published on the site after the last approval”).

2.8.0

Highlighted edits, discussion threads

  • 🖍️ An article opens highlighted when suggestions are waiting, for those who can settle them: “Show edits” and “Hide edits” replace “See in the text” and “Back to the text”.
  • 💬 Replying to a comment: “Reply” under each comment, the replies below; “Resolved” closes the thread. A badge alerts the person who opened it and those who replied, without email.
  • 🏷️ Articles without a topic: “Sort articles without a topic” opens a window where each article, as a card, waits for its topics.
  • 🗳️ The open feedback always closes with “Close”.

2.7.3

Editor touch-ups

  • 🔁 You can always leave the preview: after “See in the text”, Edit and Suggest disappeared from the selector; they now stay there, and Edit takes you back to writing.
  • 🗳️ The expanded feedback: a single title, a single set of buttons, “Close” at the top right, the comment under its label.
  • 🏷️ Topics: “See articles without a topic” at the top of the page, with the badge; with the menu collapsed, the badge sits on the Topics icon.
  • 🧭 Panel tabs: Review and Checks carry the icons of the collapsed column.
  • 🕓 Version history: what used to arrive “via the Mac” carries the name of the person publishing from the computer, or a note of automatic publication for the 7:15 and 19:15 uploads.
  • 🗑️ “Move to bin” only turns red on hover; the ⌘S shortcut follows “Save now”.

2.7.2

The byline in the preview

  • ✍️ The byline panel always appears in the preview: for a first publication, it is composed from the person’s profile (portrait, role); with no byline chosen, it says “Byline to be set”.
  • 📏 Long sentences: the text of notes no longer counts towards the length of a sentence (on the Early childhood feature, 1 sentence flagged instead of 5).
  • 🧭 The selector keeps its words alone on a computer (Preview, Edit, Suggest); on a phone, three icons.
  • 🔤 “Complex phrasing” replaces “Phrasing to rework” in the Checks tab.

2.7.1

Approval and objection

  • 🟢 “Go” becomes “approval”, “no go” becomes “objection”, everywhere in the workshop and in emails: “3 approvals out of 7, 1 objection”.
  • 💾 “Save now” joins the article’s “⋯” menu (greyed out when nothing has changed); ⌘S remains.
  • 👁️ “Preview” keeps its word in the selector; on a phone, Preview, Edit and Suggest become icons.
  • 📱 “Mobile view” replaces “Phone” in the preview.

2.7.0

Topics are managed in the workshop

  • 🏷️ A Topics page: create, rename, merge or delete a topic; articles without a topic come first, to be tagged on the spot, and a badge in the menu counts them.
  • 🗑️ Deleting a topic says how many articles carry it and how many would no longer have any topic; merging into another topic retags them in one move, and the old address leads to the replacement.
  • ✍️ From Publish…: “+ New topic” creates and ticks; “Create the profile” appears under “Signed” when the name does not exist yet; at least one topic is required to submit or publish, never for a draft.
  • 👥 People joins the Team: for the administration, a tab on the same page; for other accounts, the entry keeps its name.
  • 📏 One more line: the editor row fits on one line more often; the “an article is awaiting your feedback” banner no longer repeats the title.

2.6.0

A faithful preview, clear publication dates

  • 👁️ Preview: it no longer shows anything from another article (image, date, topics, byline, origin note); what has not been chosen yet reads “Date to be set”, “Topics to be set”.
  • 📅 Publish… › Date: three choices, “As soon as possible” (dated the day it is published), “Not before…” and “On a fixed date” (which may appear backdated); the time is prefilled at 7:00, the day remains to be chosen.
  • ✅ Your approval by default: when you submit your article, the “Give my approval” box is ticked; untick it if you prefer to wait.

2.5.7

The editor fits in one row

  • 📐 A single row: undo, redo, HTML and the Preview, Edit, Suggest selector on the left; saving, the status and Publish… on the right. The title is no longer repeated there; the counters disappear when space is short.
  • 🔗 The status joined to Publish…: the status (Draft, Hidden, Published, or the date of a scheduled article) reads to the left of the button; an arrow only appears if there are actions (change the date, unpublish).
  • 📑 The right-hand panel collapses: “›” reduces it to a column of icons that keeps its badges; a click reopens it on the chosen tab; ⌘. remains.

2.5.6

A draft is written without warnings

  • ✍️ Draft: an article in draft is saved while it is incomplete (text still empty, no topic, standfirst to rework), with no error banner or badge.
  • 📮 When submitting or publishing: what is missing is stated in the “Publish…” window, which stays open; the article stays a draft.
  • ⏳ Title deleted: automatic saving waits for it to come back, and says so in the status line.
  • 📝 Key points: the help says “a summary in a few bullets, only for a long article”.

2.5.5

A simpler editing bar

  • 🎚️ A single selector: Preview, Edit and Suggest form one three-position switch; only one is active at a time.
  • 🏷️ The status without false promises: the status badge (Draft, Hidden…) no longer shows an arrow when it has nothing to offer; hovering over it says what the status means.
  • 🧹 One button fewer: the focus button leaves the bar; the ⇧⌘F shortcut remains.
  • 🗂️ Review: the “Also show…” box says how many suggestions already accepted or rejected and resolved comments it shows, and only appears if there are any.
  • ✉️ Account requests: the people who manage accounts receive the digest by default, at their sign-in address, and can unsubscribe from it; a deactivated account that requests access again is reactivated from the queue; the refusal reply can be reread and edited before sending.

2.5.4

The People page opens first time

  • 👥 People: opened from the menu, the page stayed on “Loading people…” and showed nothing until reloaded; it now appears as soon as you click.
  • 🔎 Labels: the title and standfirst counters spell out “search engines” in full.

2.3.1

The People page opens faster

  • ⚡ Lighter portraits: the People cards and avatars load reduced thumbnails (18 KB instead of 45 per portrait); measured on a phone on slow 4G, the first screen of portraits goes from 2.3 s to 1.4 s.
  • 📄 In pages: the page shows 12 people on a phone and 24 on a computer, then “Show more”; search and filters cover the whole list.
  • 🙋 “See their page” only if there is one: a person with no introduction and no public publication does not yet have a page on the site, and their profile says so.

2.3.0

The team can be searched, the article opens in the right mode

  • 🔎 Search, filter and sort the team: in Administration › Team, a search by name, a filter by template and by status (active, deactivated, without a profile, never signed in, differs from template) and a sort (name, last sign-in, template).
  • ✍️ The right mode on opening: your own article (created by your account, or signed with your name) opens in “Edit”; another person’s in “Suggest”, even if you have already touched it up.
  • ⬆️ The dashboard starts from the top again: opened from the menu, it no longer returns to where you left it.

2.2.0

Creating a person’s profile

  • ➕ “New profile” in People: elected members and the administration create a person’s profile (contributor, neighbourhood councillor…): name, role, introduction, links; the address of their page comes from the name, and an address already taken is refused.
  • 🖼️ The portrait straight after: once the profile is created, the editor stays open on it to add a portrait.
  • 🔎 From “Change profile…”: a search with no result offers “Create the profile” for that name.

2.1.14

A lighter, clearer workshop on a phone

  • 🌗 The theme follows the device: on the first visit, the workshop takes the system’s light or dark theme; the theme button keeps your choice.
  • 📱 The dashboard on a phone: it opens as rows; the title is shown in full, the status (“hidden”) sits on the image and the count of “go”s below it; the modification date is left out. The views are ordered calendar, rows, cards.
  • 🔢 The tile figures are correct: they no longer stop on an intermediate number while loading.
  • ⚡ The People page opens quickly: portraits are no longer downloaded again on every visit.
  • 🔗 Your own person profile, any free profile: “Change profile…” links to any profile that no other account holds.
  • 👁️ The preview only warns when it needs to: the note only appears for an article that has a timeline or charts, formatted at publication.
  • 🛠️ A workshop update announces itself: while a new version is being uploaded, the workshop displays “Workshop update in progress” and reloads itself; if already open, it says so in a banner then offers to reload.

2.1.12

Better-guarded profiles

  • 🔒 Your person profile is chosen by your name: in “Account settings”, “Change profile…” offers the profile in your name, or to create one; for another profile, the administration makes the link.
  • 🗂️ A “Profiles” permission in the team: one more column in the table; it allows editing other people’s profiles and goes to elected members and the administration.
  • 🛡️ Actions limited by permissions: you cannot change the name of a profile linked to an account with more permissions than your own, and “Sign everyone out” spares those accounts.

2.1.11

Sign-in restored

  • 🔑 The sign-in link opens the workshop again: since 15:05 on 12 October, “Open the workshop” had no effect and a second tap said the link had expired; the button leads to the workshop again, signed in.
  • 👆 A double tap no longer blocks: the button only fires once, and a link already used, reopened in a browser already signed in, enters the workshop instead of saying “expired”.
  • 📱 On a phone, the browser matters: the link page and the expired link page say that the sign-in stays in the browser where the link opens; that of a messaging app keeps it to itself.

2.1.10

People, and the team as a table

  • 👤 A person profile is read first: in “People”, the profile shows the portrait, name, role, introduction and links as on the site, with “See their page”. “Edit profile” opens a large window: the portrait on the left, the fields on the right.
  • ✍️ Profiles are edited online: the display name, role, introduction and links are saved from the online workshop; the person’s page changes at the next site upload. A new name also renames the account linked to the profile, and its articles follow.
  • 🔐 Who edits a profile: the person themselves, the administration and elected members. The same rule applies to the portrait.
  • 🙋 “My public profile” in “Account settings”: “Edit” opens your own profile; “Change profile…” links it to another.
  • 📋 The team returns to the administration, as a table: one row per account, one column per permission, each permission ticked in the table; “+” or “−” flags a difference from the template. An account’s actions (edit its profile, change it, rename, revert to the template, sign out, deactivate) move under “⋯”. In “People”, a profile only says “Has an account” and points to the team.

2.1.9

Editor touch-ups

  • 🪟 “Publish…” opens full size, and its steps slide: the window takes up almost the whole screen, without cutting anything off; each step comes in from the right when moving forward, from the left when going back.
  • 📅 Dates spelled out: “It will be published on 5 November at 7:00”, and no longer “5 Nov., 7:00”.
  • 🧹 Fewer duplicates: “Why hidden” disappears; the bar only says “Saved” (the badge gives the status), “Suggestion mode” fits without being cut off; “Back to draft” moves under “⋯”, whose explanations are no longer truncated; the preview of a feature no longer repeats its key figure.

2.1.8

A column for reviewing

  • 🗳️ The “go” floats at the bottom of the article: on any article in review, a line “Your feedback · 3 go out of 7” with “Go” and “No go” stays at the bottom of the writing area; “No go” or “Details” expand it for the comment and everyone’s feedback; once the feedback is given, it says “You said go ✓” and “Change”. The banner at the top of the article disappears.
  • 📝 Key points are written under the standfirst: one per line, where they are displayed; they leave the right-hand column.
  • 💬 Suggestions and comments in a single thread: the right-hand column now has only two tabs, “Review” and “Checks”. In “Review”, suggestions and comments follow each other in the order of the text (the title and standfirst first), each labelled, with its actions (accept, reject, show in the text, resolved); “Also show what is settled” brings back the old ones. You still comment on a selected passage there.
  • 🏷️ The article’s status is a badge in the bar: “Hidden”, “Draft”, “Scheduled” or “Published”; a click explains it and opens its actions (change the date, unpublish, back to draft, “Why hidden…”). “Publish…” or “Publication…” remains the main button beside it.
  • 📌 Pinning to the front page is set in “Publish…” and “Publication…”: at the date step, with its start and end dates.
  • ⋯ Rare actions under “⋯”: the version history and moving to the bin leave the right-hand column for the bar.

2.1.7

Two menus, the same actions

  • 🧩 A block’s menu and the add menu offer the same actions: both have “Turn into”, “Insert” and “This block” (move up, move down, delete). A block’s menu (the handle on its left) can now insert an image, a key figure, a table, a divider… below that block, without splitting it; the add menu (“+”, or “/” on an empty line) can move or delete the line.

2.1.5

One feedback, one account

  • 🗳️ Feedback is given in the workshop, signed in to your account: “Reviewers link” (the message to post on Signal, with a link where you typed your name) leaves the workshop, and the review box of pending articles leaves their page on the site. A “go” or a “no go” is given in the workshop, under your account name; feedback already given is still counted.

2.1.4

Each account has its person profile

  • 🪪 A workshop account is linked to its person profile: to add someone to the team, you now have to choose their profile among those with the closest name (the identical one, ticked by default), or deliberately create a new profile. The team shows each account’s profile, or “No linked profile” with “Link…”. Everyone can change their own in “Account settings”. The account takes the name of the chosen profile, and its articles signed with the old name follow it.
  • 👥 The team lives in the People screen: for the administration, a “The team” filter there shows the people who have an account, with their role on the card; a person’s profile carries their account (role, permissions, sign out, deactivate, change profile) or “Open an account…”. “Add a person” is at the top of the screen, and the administration’s “The team” entry leads there.
  • 🖼️ Portraits replace initials: in the navigation bar, the account settings, the team table and the suggestion cards, the profile’s portrait is shown when it has one.
  • 🧹 The People screen loses the profile email and “Addresses for the collector”: leftovers from the old review circuit, which nothing used any more. Each account sets its emails in “Account settings”.

2.1.3

One filter fewer in the workshop

  • 🧹 The “Problems” filter and the “To fix” tile leave the workshop: no article fell under them. An article that had a problem still shows it on its card and in its “Checks” tab.

2.1.0

Write, finalise, review: a lighter workshop

  • ✍️ The workshop saves on its own, and a single button finalises the article: the text is saved a few seconds after the last keystroke (“Saved at 17:11”), and the history keeps one version per quarter-hour of writing. “Publish…” opens three steps: the presentation (title for search engines, topics, type, extended feature, byline), the date, then the review, submitting to reviewers or, for elected members and the administration, publishing without waiting. A published article has “Publication…” and “Change the date…”: it keeps its date, takes today’s date or another past date. The right-hand column keeps only the article’s status, the front-page pin and the key points.
  • 💬 Suggesting an edit, without touching the article: on someone else’s article, the bar offers “Edit” or “Suggest”. In suggestion mode, you write freely; nothing is saved in the article, and “Propose” sends the difference, signed, with a note of explanation. It appears as cards in the right-hand column: old text struck through, new text in green, “Accept” or “Reject” piece by piece. An edit whose location has changed since is flagged, without being applied. “See in the text” shows the article with all suggestions highlighted: a click on one of them accepts or rejects it on the spot.
  • 🧹 No more touch-ups applied by default: automatically proposed touch-ups and their tracking (“Your turn”, “Being checked”) leave the workshop; editing someone else’s text now goes through a signed suggestion, which the author accepts or rejects.
  • 🎯 The workshop calendar speaks from where you stand, in five colours: green for what is published, pale green with a dotted border for what is approved or scheduled, brown for what awaits your feedback, red if it is published within 7 days (the legend only shows it if there are any), pale grey when your feedback is given and the article is waiting for the other reviewers. An article awaiting your feedback off screen is flagged at the top; a click leads to it. Under a search whose results all fit on screen, the list shows them all.
  • 🖼️ The lead illustration is set in the body of the article: a click on the image, or dropping an image into its empty space, opens its settings (image, cropping, description, caption, credit, video). The focal point is chosen on the whole image, and a preview immediately shows the home page card as it will be cropped. The right-hand column no longer mentions it.
  • 📊 The key figure is written in the text: it no longer has fields in the right-hand column; you insert it as a “Key figure” block in the body, and a feature’s header takes the first one. The ten features that had one have kept it, identical on the site.

2.0.4

The account and help, clearer

  • 👤 The account window can be read at a glance: one line per setting, each with its button, all the same size and aligned; “Sign out” at the top, on the right. Deleting your account becomes a three-step process (what goes and what stays, the byline of your articles, the confirmation), opened by a discreet link at the bottom.
  • 🧭 Help shows an article’s path in five illustrated steps: write, submit, review, publish, correct, one sentence each. Keyboard shortcuts unfold at the bottom, with ⌘ on Mac and Ctrl elsewhere.
  • 🛟 A workshop that does not start says so: instead of a blank screen, a message suggests trying again in a few minutes and reloading the page.
  • 📤 Immediate site upload moves to the administration: a “Site upload” card; the left-hand bar no longer shows it online. The site still rebuilds itself at 7:15 and 19:15, and at the seventh “go”.

2.0.0

The site in production, the workshop open online

  • 🔑 The workshop opens online to every member, without a password. You give your address, a link arrives by email, and that link opens the workshop. Each account has a role (review, writing, elected member, administration) and the permissions that go with it.
  • 🛠️ The administration has its dashboard: the team (last sign-in, role, permissions), adding a person in a window, form recipients, and a “Sign everyone out” emergency button.
  • 👤 Your account is set with a click on your name, at the bottom of the menu: settings, help, sign-out; with the menu collapsed, the avatar is enough. A badge on the workshop logo says whether the publishing server is listening, with details on hover.
  • 🗓️ The workshop opens on the calendar, with the filters and the histogram at the top, then the counters, then the articles. Only the list scrolls: the months follow it continuously. Drafts and undated articles have their own “Off calendar” group, and drafts come first in date sorts.
  • 🟣 What awaits your feedback is seen first: a “Your turn to review” badge and a purple outline in the list, a purple dot on calendar days, “your go given” on the others. The banner for articles outside the months shown alerts you if any remain to be reviewed, and only informs when none awaits your feedback.
  • 🔢 Counters by role: “To review” (with the urgent ones) for everyone; “My articles”, “Drafts”, “To fix” and “No image” for those who write; “In review” and “Scheduled”, more discreet. A counter at zero disappears, except “To review”. The articles signed by each member are attached to their account.
  • ✍️ The viewer also shows the title for search engines, editable in place, with its guidelines behind a ?; without a lead image, a dotted frame invites you to drag one in or click to choose it.
  • 🖼️ A wrapped image is placed in the middle of a paragraph: dropped into the text, it splits it between two words, and the text flows around it in one piece.
  • 📜 An article from the old site is displayed read-only, with the reason and an “Import into the workshop” button: the copy takes its place, at the same address and on the same date, with no duplicate.
  • 📣 “Send to the site” asks for confirmation, and sorts each article by what it will be after the upload: visible to the public, scheduled for its date, or still hidden.
  • 📅 In the workshop, a date is chosen to the day, with no “Precision” list. Archives for which only the month is known (the 19 issues of La Feuille, old petitions, the July 2025 opinion piece) keep “December 2023” rather than an invented day; giving them a precise date switches them to the day.

1.10.0

The calendar that scrolls through time, and each article’s audience

  • ✍️ In the workshop, a paragraph already written can be transformed as when it was created. Timeline, session exchange, “key takeaway” or pull quote, on one or more selected blocks. The “Why hidden” field becomes optional; a click on an article’s illustration opens its settings; underlining no longer exists, except for links.
  • 🖐️ In the workshop, an article can be dragged onto a calendar day to change its date. A workshop window confirms (“Change the publication date?”, the old date struck through, the new one), then the date is saved, the time kept, and the article immediately moves to its new day in the calendar. Upcoming articles, published articles and features can be moved (76 as of 5 October); a published article does not go into the future, a scheduled article does not move back to today or earlier, and the window reminds you that a feature also dates its “closed on” note. The newsroom will get it when it moves to a full CMS.
  • 🖼️ Three layouts for an image, to choose from in the workshop. In the frame of the selected image: “Caption beside”, “Wrap” (the text flows beside it) or “Banner” (full width, cropped, adjustable with ↑ and ↓). The hedge in the September 2026 opinion piece becomes a banner.
  • 🌗 The theme changes with one click, whether the bar is collapsed or not. The button goes from light to dark then to automatic, and shows the current mode: a sun, a moon, or a half-filled sun for “follow the system”; the tooltip names the next mode. With the bar collapsed, it was invisible: it is now displayed.
  • ➖ In the workshop, a “Divider” block. It is found in the “+” menu and by typing “/” on an empty line: a rule is placed under the block with the cursor, and an empty line awaits you to write what follows. A line made only of dashes (“-----”) becomes that same rule when saved.
  • ⏳ A link to an article not yet published waits for its publication. On a published page, it is displayed as plain text, and becomes a link again on its own when the target article is published.

1.9.1

One reviewer, one feedback

  • 🔧 Behind the scenes: a reviewer counts once, however their name is spelled. In the newsroom and the workshop, “Straße” and “STRASSE”, or a name written with a final sigma, made two pieces of feedback where the publication rule sees only one. The live count now follows exactly that rule: tested against 3,000 sets of feedback, it returns the same verdict every time. Feedback without a name is displayed empty, and no longer as “undefined”.

1.9.0

Propose, review, withdraw

  • ✍️ Proposing an edit from the newsroom. An “Edit” button on the newsroom’s articles opens the same editor as the workshop: title, standfirst and text. The proposal, signed with the name of whoever makes it, arrives in the workshop, in “Your turn”, as highlighted edits to keep or reject one by one; each edit’s bubble names its author.
  • ✅ Feedback is no longer lost when the article changes. A “go” or a “no go” remains valid after an edit to the article; the workshop says how much feedback was given on a previous version.
  • ↩️ Withdrawing feedback. The review box lists the feedback in force, with its date and comment, each followed by a “Withdraw” button. Withdrawal asks for confirmation and is recorded in the name of whoever withdraws; until reviewer accounts exist, anyone can withdraw anyone’s feedback.
